Why Do Wedding Planner Costs Vary So Much?

Before we get into numbers, it's worth understanding why wedding planner fees vary as widely as they do. A lot comes down to experience, reputation, the level of service offered and the type of weddings a planner specialises in. A planner with a decade of experience working at prestigious UK venues like Kew Gardens, Cornwell Manor or Somerset House will naturally command a different rate to someone just starting out.

You're also paying for something that goes far beyond admin. You're paying for supplier relationships built over years, for the ability to solve a problem in three minutes that would take you three weeks, for the calm and confidence of knowing that on your wedding day, every single detail is being managed by someone who has done this hundreds of times before.

What Are the Different Levels of Wedding Planning Service?

Full Wedding Planning

This is the most comprehensive service, covering every aspect of your wedding from our very first conversation right through to you heading to your honeymoon. It includes venue research, supplier sourcing and management, budget tracking, design and styling direction, logistics, and full on-the-day coordination.

At One Oake, full planning starts from approximately £8,000 depending on the complexity of the wedding, and is also commonly priced as a percentage of the overall wedding budget (typically 10–12%).

This service is ideal for couples who want complete peace of mind, don't have time to manage the planning themselves, or are planning a complex or large-scale wedding.

Bespoke / Partial Planning

For couples who have already started planning and simply need expert support in specific areas,finalising suppliers, reviewing contracts, pulling together the timeline, or managing the design this flexible service offers exactly the help you need, nothing more.

At One Oake, bespoke planning typically starts from around £4,000.

On the Day Coordination

You've planned the whole wedding yourself, brilliant. But on the day itself, you don't want to be the one fielding supplier calls, managing the timeline and making sure the flowers arrive in the right room. That's where on-the-day coordination comes in.

I take over all supplier communication in the weeks leading up to the wedding, build a detailed day-of timeline, and am there in person from setup through to the evening to make sure every element runs exactly as planned.

At One Oake, on-the-day coordination starts from approximately £2,250.

Is a Wedding Planner Worth the Cost?

I'm obviously biased, but let me give you an honest answer.
