A little about me..
I'm a wedding and party planner based in Essex, living near the beautiful seaside town of Leigh on Sea with my fiancé Ollie and our little Cockapoo, Peppa. When I'm not planning weddings and celebrations you can find me either curled up on the sofa catching up on some sort of reality tv show, or I'm out with friends and family sipping on a cocktail, usually after a shopping trip or a great meal out.
I love to travel and have been all over the place! Some of my favourite destinations include Australia, New Zealand and New York. I'm a stationery horder and have way too many notebooks and pretty accessories but you can never have too much pretty stationery right? I'm a lover of home décor (and IKEA!) and take a lot of inspiration from the these when thinking of wedding and event styling.
My Story...
I have loved weddings and parties for as long as I can remember, ever since I was a little girl, I have watched my mum plan events and host parties; you could say that event planning is in my blood!
My first real job in the industry was interning with a celebrity planner and I had the time of my life! Kind of like Anne Hathaway's character in The Devil Wears Prada, I found myself racing across London picking up champagne from Claridges, accessories for the bridal party, suits for the staff and of course working on the most amazing weddings! I loved the buzz and I left hungry for more! I then went on to work as a wedding and private events coordinator at two leading venues as well as working with event stylists and caterers. Fast forward with years experience under my belt I launched One Oake and never looked back!
Being a wedding planner is such a rewarding job, I love the feeling of seeing a couple at the end of their wedding day and saying 'we did it!' Being able to see their vision come to life, the meetings, calls, emails, all coming together to create the day of their dreams. Being able to give my clients that WOW factor as they see their wedding for the first time, be it walking down the aisle or walking into the reception gives me the biggest smile on my face knowing that I have helped them create their perfect day. I work with couples for months or even years in advance and I pride myself on building a great relationship with my clients, so much that most of my past clients are now good friends.
Playing a part in a couples planning journey is a responsibility that I do not take lightly. It is incredibly important for me to make sure that you have the day of your dreams, that you have the best of the best suppliers working for you, and ultimately, that your event exceeds all of your expectations.
If you feel the stresses of planning your wedding outweighs your everyday commitments, I can ease your burden. I offer a calm, supportive and personal approach to planning, and as your planner, your wedding is as important to me as it is to you.
