How to assemble your wedding supplier dream team

Your wedding suppliers are going to be your dream team on the day, the ones who make your Pinterest board come to life, who make your dream a reality. You want the best of the best and you want to make sure that they are there to work for you and always putting you first. Unfortunately there are some suppliers out there who are just out to make money and not to give you the best service. In this blog post I give you some hints and tips in how to choose your wedding dream team of suppliers!

First of all you need to work out which suppliers you need. If your venue provides all food and beverage for you don’t spend ages looking for caterers! The same goes for DJ’s some venues include these in their packages so just make sure you double check exactly whats provided and what you need to source!

Now you know who assembles the dream team you need to start the research. This is the bit that takes the longest! Shop around, look at online directories, wedding fairs, word of mouth and social media.

Once you have narrowed down your shortlist you should aim to get 2-3 quotes from each kind of supplier and compare them before booking. Do you research and try only to get quotes from suppliers who you think it could be likely you book from. In order to get detailed quote you need to make sure you include as much information as possible in your enquiries. This will allow you to make a better comparison and know if they are likely to be the supplier for you.

You should include:

- Your names

- Date of the wedding

- Wedding venue/s

- Time of estimated arrival

- Number of guests

- What you are looking for them to provide

You should try and contact the wedding suppliers who can only do one wedding a day first. So wedding planner, photographer, videographer, church/venue etc. After this go for the on the day suppliers caterers, florist, hair and makeup then the suppliers that don’t need to attend on the day stationers, cake makers etc. This will ensure that the limited availability suppliers are confirmed for your date first.

Once you have your quotes back from each supplier go back and do more research, check google reviews, go and visit them at wedding fairs or at their studios and really get a feel for them and find one you click with. If they match your budget, your style of wedding and you click with them then they are your supplier!
